I am trying to fix an aptiva 2162. it has a media console including cd-rom, floppy, media card. I have formatted the hd. i want to install windows 98se. when i put the boot disc in everything is working perfectly. when it is done i type in setup under a: and it gives me a cdr101 error!!! can someone help me!! need this computer fixed asap!!!

Well....you are messing with an IBM computer....lets see, I would start with the BIOS. Check IBM's Website for the latest version and update that if necessary. While you are on their website I would look for any CD drivers that relate to Win9X also. If there are then it might be worth adding them to the Boot Floppy and see if that will wakeup the CD Reader. Keep in mind that there is IBM, and then there is everybody else. Good Luck.
