Hi,

Can you check out the disk with Partition Magic or Norton's System works?

Wasn't sure at first, but then noticed the drive was NTFS :D

The 0.29 GB missing is used for the MFT. (Master Filing Table) On NTFS volumes Windows uses the MFT as a place to record what's in each sector on the drive, I think, like the File Allocation Table on FAT volumes. The difference with NTFS and FAT / FAT32 is Windows reserves x amount of space for it with NTFS, varying depending on how big the volume is.

That's used for the "system restore" files. See the size of the System Volume Information which is a system and hidden folder.

i think if u set ur file vie options to see all hidden and system files..............itll ptobably show you where the 290MB is lost ......probably the page file

Nah dude, it was all in D: with all the hidden and system folders shown. The System Volume Information still doesn't have access. So I had to set the security right accessible to me. This is even after that.

And now the Mystery is REBORN with this:
