Hi,
This gives me a pitass, I dont have a clue where the rest is gone :( 0.29 GB is missing somewhere :o Anyone got a clue? Please.... |
Can you check out the disk with Partition Magic or Norton's System works?
|
Wasn't sure at first, but then noticed the drive was NTFS :D
The 0.29 GB missing is used for the MFT. (Master Filing Table) On NTFS volumes Windows uses the MFT as a place to record what's in each sector on the drive, I think, like the File Allocation Table on FAT volumes. The difference with NTFS and FAT / FAT32 is Windows reserves x amount of space for it with NTFS, varying depending on how big the volume is. |
That's used for the "system restore" files. See the size of the System Volume Information which is a system and hidden folder.

i think if u set ur file vie options to see all hidden and system files..............itll ptobably show you where the 290MB is lost ......probably the page file
