Hi there

I would like to take advantage of the low memory prices and upgrade my system RAM. I know it's either PC133 or PC100 and it can use both but I'm not quite sure which type is already factory installed.

The pc is a Packard Bell iconnect 1350 with a Microstar MS6340 (K7TM PRO) motherboard, AMD Duron 800Mhz processor and 64MB of "factory" installed RAM.

Is there a way to tell from the numbers/letters that are printed on the DIMM module and if so, what are the codes for the various types of RAM? i.e. PC100 3.3v unbuffered SDRAM and PC133 etc.

All help would be appreciated.

Thanks in advance.

Dave

Go here: http://www.crucial.com/ use their memory finder, you can also learn a lot about memory on the site. Crucial[Micron} is also top quality RAM--Don't buy crap ram,a very bad place to save a few pennies.

If you find out you have PC100 ram currently I would scrap it and upgrade to 512M of pc133, at todays prices this is a worthwhile upgrade. By the way if you put a stick of PC133 with a stick of PC100 they will both run at the slower speed.
