i just get whatever is either free or real cheap after mail-in rebates. haven't had any problems with any of it. most of the time its either verbatim, imitation, prime peripherals.

I used Aritas for a long time, now I'm on Sony. Both brands will do the job for me on 48x.

For CD/RW I only use Sony 10x, and that also works fine.

TDK seems to be a good choice, among with some others

How the heck can you overclock a CDR drive?

Hi Flanderz,

Don't know if this is the right place to discuss here ?

It can be done by flashing the firmware of your writer with a small program :MTKFLASH.exe
You can find a lot of info here: (for Liteon drives)

Probably best to start a new topic if this wants to continue.

An interesting read though.
