What do you mean you can't get it to boot? Does it load the boot up screen? Not turn on? What are your master/slave settings?

I think his master/slave settings are alright because it looks he is not installing a new machine. There can be a problem if the other drive
is installed but not formatted. I had the same trouble with maxstar. He should also check his bios settings. And more, he should tell us what doesn't work !! |
eddieb didn't say what version of XP he was running, but on some of the betas, XP would NOT install if you had more than 1 drive on each cable or ide channel.
This has been fixed for the most part in the 2600 final code so I sugest find a devils own copy or a corp or select copy of 2600 and try again. Also make sure that both drives are formated and do not have any broken files or chains on either drive or this will cause problems also. you could also just install one drive on ide1 and one drive on ide2 and slave any cd roms you have. hope this helps SeeYa |
