Trying to install this all purpose junk from
HP on winxp, detects the hardware but sulks on
hpousd10.dll. Any help ??

have you tried looking at HP's website for newer drivers

Yes, I looked at the hp site.
I also tried to fake the productname key in
the registry to win 2000 and install win2k drivers. They install but it doesn't work after
reboot. Bloody hell, I need to scan some material
for my exam..and I banked upon this microsoft
wonder os !
