I and a friend both had an incident recently that rendered a hard drive kaput. PowerQuest Partition magic produced an error #45 and no way we could reformat the hd--both of us. I ran the <fidisk /mbr> command from a win98 boot disk and was able to reformat. My friend took his pc to an "expert". He lives in Paris. I live in Canada where we are a little more terre a terre. Anyway, this is the second time I found PowerQest PM unable to format a hard disk because of an error it "detected", the #45 is the second, I forget the ID of the first one.
What's the best way to recover from this kind of thing? |
Hi there,
here's what error #45 is: _http://www.powerquest.com/support/primus/id131.cfm Run through what they suggest if possible. Hope that helps. |
Thanks. Sorry I didn't check in sooner. But this is helpful and my buddy is still was still fiddling with this problem.
