A few days ago noticed that my E: drive, or CD Rom drive, was not listed in My Computer. I recently reinstalled it, but pretty sure this isn't a hardware problem because during POST the drive is listed (slave to burner on secondary channel). Why would Windows not recognize the drive, and is there something that can be done about it? Any ideas?

Have you looked in My Computer/Manage/Disk Mangement (double click) ato see what is there?

Are you using Roxio burning software?

Richardc2000 - Thank you for reply and your suggestion - will try that. :)
Tubebuoy - thank you for your reply - I tried to use EZ CD Creator but had problems with it, so went back to Nero. The CD drive worked at one point in the last couple of weeks because I installed Office with it. :) |

That will teach me to avoid anything with the Roxio name on it. Thank you Tubebuoy. Will definately make a note of that - goodbye EZ CD Creator!

Not sure if you got it figured out yet, If lost drive after deleteing Burner program try this
Open regedit and go to: HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Contro l\Class\{4D36E965-E325-11CE-BFC1-08002BE10318} In this section you will find two keys called "UpperFilters" & "LowerFilters" and you will need to delete both of these keys and reboot HotRod |
