Is G-Force 2 MX2 anygood?

UndaC 5th Sep 01 09:31 AM

there are different models of it
and it all depends on what you intend to use it for and how much money you are prepared to spend

generally: no it's not a very good card IMHO
the GF2 MX 400 TwinView 64MB is pretty nice though

Counterfeit 5th Sep 01 11:27 AM

its gonna cost me like 75 pound but im not sure which card ill ask the store and reply wid the full name but is GForce2 MX2 anygood ?

UndaC 5th Sep 01 12:09 PM

you can probably get a Radeon 32MB or a Radeon LE (or even a radeon Ultra) wich will be better than a GF2 MX
or a Kyro 2 32MB
those should be around 75 bucks

MUCH better choices

you don't really need 64MB so don't get stuck on that spec.

only MX I could ever recommend would be the 400...

thn for the info m8s im gonna stuck wid my vodoo 3 3000 till i have 75 bucks to buy the Radeon or the MX2 400

You could also wait a couple of weeks for the Geforce3 MX, instead of getting and older version of the Raedon or the Geforce.

I suggest that ya save up some bucks for a Radeon 8500, or go for a GeForce3 MX. But I also think that the KYRO IIs are cheap. :)

UndaC 6th Sep 01 04:12 AM

according to many sites the GF3 MX will be expensive as hell (though some say the exact opposite)
if you can afford it, it would be a good choice though

Counterfeit 6th Sep 01 02:38 PM

ok so da mx3 it is im not sure i could afford it but ill c any way i have a CPU wid 450mhz will a good 3D card make my com slower than it is?

UndaC 6th Sep 01 04:38 PM

no it won't be slower
but you might no see the real improvements (with current videocards) unless you run a 500-600+ MHZ CPU (preferbly not a Celeron)
