News Corp. takes on Germany again
 

The last time News Corp. left the German media market in 2002, the exit was costly. The media conglomerate controlled by Rupert Murdoch had been a shareholder in the media group controlled by the Munich entrepreneur Leo Kirch and had to take a $1.93 billion write-off when two Kirch companies filed for bankruptcy.
