No harm, no foul ( at least nothing show right now, who knows down the road,) I think that I got the power supply plug in at an angle and it shut it down, I know that you are supposed to be able to do it with IDE/SCSI drives on servers, (part of the redunacdacy I guess,) I think that I will try it again but on one of my older Pentium systems. :D |
Not a good idea on 2k Pro.My system stopped,frozen.

What the hell am I on about!!!
I -=DO=- hot swap CD-ROMs... on my Dell laptop which runs Win2k Pro. Must be a hardware thing, but the O/S moans it's ass off if I pull the CD-ROM unit out without booking apointment first in unplug or eject appet. LOL, DOH!!! :D :) :D [ August 08, 2001 03:45 PM: Last edited by dazlink ] |
When I ran Win2k Pro, I hotswpped IDE CD-RWs and DVD-ROMs, just make sure the IDE cable is first, then power for plugging in, reverse for unplugging, I seem to have burned out my 40x CD-ROM by plugging in power first
