All,

I'm using DSL that provides about an 80kb/sec download speed. This holds pretty true when downloading from the Web; however, my speeds on mIRC usually suck to the point I'm continually falling below mandatory minimum speeds (usually only 10kb/sec) and getting kicked. Just wonder if that's a problem with the servers I'm downloading from, even though they claim high server speeds, or if I need to tweak my perform settings which are as follows:

/dcc packetsize 4096
/echo %pc $+ ***Fast DCC Enabled***
/fsend on
/pdcc 2147483647

Also, in my initial attempt to play around with mIRC scripts, I stumbled across dccAssist, which seems to be pretty decent. What scripts do the rest of you use that are especially good at resuming downloads and offer other convenient features?

SVCDs are a wonderful thing...saves money on buying movies for the kids they'll only watch a couple of times!

TIA,

torataka

Hi there torataka

I never had the good fortune to experience DSL, so I'm not to sure how the connection is setup, but my logic would tell me that it should work fine just as it is.

The servers from which you download could be the problem seeing that you actually download from some other persons PC and his Bandwidth, so don't discard that as a reason, best is to try various IRC servers and test DCC's from them....

If proxies is involved then I would suggest to check that route out... I will also ask my good friend Grizzly to respond to this seeing that he uses DSL and maybe know of something I can't think of.

Hope to sort you out soon...
Jaco

Oh and I use Excursion as a Script and I don't have any probs with DCC's..... ht.p://excursion.cjb.net ;)
