I am looking for a way to change the product key in Office Xp, as I accidentally entered the wrong one.
Also, is there a way not to activate Office once you are prompted to do so? Please feel free to move this question to the correct board. Thanks |
To change the product key in Office XP, open up the Registry Editor by typing "regedit" (without the quotations) in the 'Run' command box. Navigate to the following:
CODE HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Office\10.0\ Registration\{xxxxxxxx-xxxx-xxxx-xxxx-xxxxxxxxxxxx} Note that the 'x's stand for any random letter or number. Delete the DigitalProductID and ProductID keys. After you delete them, close out of the Registry Editor and open up any Office XP program. Office will prompt you to enter a new product key. |
not that I need to.. But is there a way for me to derive a product key from all this, I believe its, HEX.
