HardDrive Problems
 

I just got one of these.
SAMSUNG Spinpoint F1 HD753LJ 750GB 7200 RPM 32MB Cache SATA 3.0Gb/s Hard Drive - OEM
Hooked it up and formatted it.
When I try to write data to it my machine locks up.
Anyone ever heard anything like this and know a fix?

SATA drivers.. NTFS format vs FAT32..

writing to a drive and the box freezes. Sounds like a drive problem, had the same at school. I dumped stuff on it to keep, but off my PC, and the drive dropped my stuff, even after I restored/tried to still nothing..

Apparently 3.0Gb/s may be too much for some rigs. It just may be that a jumper to drop the speed will enhance compatibility. The Samsung jumper note is at http://downloadcenter.samsung.com/co...ATA_eng_r4.pdf

May at least be worth a try. :)

I returned the drive. Tried both the jumper and flash firmware to force 1.5
Still the same problem. About a week should get a new one, hope it's better
