Ok, I have 2 Hard drives in one puter, the c drive which is removable and d drive which is fixed, can i leave d drive connected to c drive when the c drive is linux without messing up d drive which is a fat 32 partition??
|
Ithink that should be ok, do you mean that by swapping your C: drive you will be changing OS ???
and using d: for storage ??? |
yes, that is what i want to do, How do Iget my windows boxes to see the linux box??, The linux box can get on the net and cruise, and is assigned an IP by my router, gettin this thing network ready so far has been a bear, but still pluggin,

you can install 'samba server' 4 sharing folders from a linux box to a windows network:)
hope it helps some :D |
If I knew anything at all bout Linux-Mandrake I am sure it would be a big help, but this is the first time I have even really taken the time to sit down and "learn" it., Right now my main goal is to learn how to update Netscape, I know it's there (the update file) cuz it put it there, but I'll be damned if i know where.
|
Mmmmm , I did it once but have forgotten how, since I re-installed I have been using the default browser.
It seems to run faster than Netscape 6.2 in my opinion. |
what linux distro can r you running? Red-Hat_7.1/7.2, Mandrake_8.0/8.1, other??
just 2 check if it is RPM's supported ( *.RPM its just like *.exe files in windows;)) update: sorry, just realised it is Linux-Mandrake:o Samba server [b:0cf8dc5abd]is[/b:0cf8dc5abd] included in d Linux-Mandrake distro :) you have the option to configure samba by in main menu where you just have to put (basically :o) d name of d machine, the folders you want to share, etc. hope it helps some. later. |
