Nobel winner blames cultural decline on "blogging and blugging"

Doris Lessing, this year's winner of the Nobel Prize in Literature, delivered her acceptance speech (http://nobelprize.org/nobel_prizes/l...ecture_en.html) last week. It's a powerful plea for reading and for education and for joining in the "great tradition" of books, but Lessing wonders why poor students in southern Africa have a stronger desire for books than do the wealthy students of England.
