I currently have a forum based on ASP and an Access database and just recently decided to switch over to a PHP/MySQL solution and decided to go with Invision Board.
So far everything has gone smoothly and I like a lot of the things Invision can do. At this point, I'm in the customizing/modding phase and have a couple questions: -Did you guys create your own buttons or did you get a devpack from somewhere? -When I create a hidden forum, I have no way to allow people to see it, not even myself. How do I make it visible to people with the right credentials? Anyways, I don't feel like swamping anyone so these are the two questions I'll leave with. Thanks much, guys. |
I don't know about the buttons because I still use the default ones. I did see a free development pack though somewhere, either on the support forum or \www.ibresource.com which is a good support site for InvisionBoard with all the hacks.
The make your forum hidden only to certain user groups go to your admin cp and click on forum control on the left, then manage. Now select the forum you want to hide and the member groups are all listed. If you uncheck read access for a certain group then that user group can't see the forum, but other user groups can if they have read access. You can set up other user groups under users and groups, manage user groups. Hope this helps B) |
When you create a forum, first you create a category and then create forums with not cats no forums will show, then after creating a cat(s) create your forum(s) and pick what cat they go into, visible should be chosen by default, then you chose access rights by groups.
The images come with IBF. |
