What exactly do you mean with "imaging device"? Itīs a kind of hardware stuff I guess, but what?

The best way to do so is from Safe Mode.

That's only a scanner, my scanner did'nt work properly because of that. I also tried to disable the program in startup tab in msconfig & remove the files in registry & end process all the task associating that imaging device in task manager & tried to uninstall in safe mode but still same pop up message appear.

I had the same problem with a Mustek scanner and I was unable to remove it because it required for the boot !

I have format the hard drive and don't try to reinstall this scaner and It's gone from the device manger.

If you can't update your driver,

It will show your yellow flag always

Hi,

A few tasks I would perform before reinstalling WinXP:

Try reinstalling the driver. It sometime helps. After that a remove might be working.

Another option is to search the registry (Local Machine, Current Control Set) for trace of the device. You'll ne RegEdt32.exe to then change the permissions on the registry key, so you can deleted it.
Be very [b:bfcfa13d05]very[/b:bfcfa13d05] cerefull with Regedit & RegEdt32. Editing or deleting the wrong keys might crash your Windows. Alway make exports of keys you wish to edit or delete. This way you can import them back to their original settings.

Hope you can solve this one, they often the worst that can happen to you.

Cheers
Cactus
