I'm yet to install sp1, I'm just getting too paranoid with MS, are there any nasty suprises that need to be dealt with or is it safe to install...

it is always recommended to install a service pack, if you are a legitimate windows user :)
as it is said over and over: it makes your system more compatible, more reliable and uptodate.
supports USB2, if your motherboard supports it, u are advantaged.
go and read reviews everywhere in the net about sp1.
there is no reason to be afraid to install this one :)

When you have an OS that you like, you must update it when you can ;)

This is the same history for windows 98 :lol:

Keep it up to date

You paid for this OS and the update are free :D The choice is easy to do
