ISO votes against fast tracking Microsoft's Office Open XML

The International Organization for Standardization has voted against a proposal to fast-track Microsoft's Office Open XML format as an international standard. Although the exact vote tallies have not been released, as it failed to gain unqualified approval from least three-quarters of the ISO member countries, as well as two-thirds of the national standards bodies that have worked on the proposal to make the Office 2007 format a standard.
