BBC to meet with open-source advocates over iPlayer

The BBC is set to launch the beta version of its iPlayer "catch-up software" in the next few weeks, and the service is slated to be Windows-only at launch. But after the Open Source Consortium complained that the iPlayer would not be available to all license payers, the BBC has agreed to address their concerns.
