Depends on a lot of factors, but generally yes ddr you can mix, some brands will mix and some will not...try to make them the same brand.. It's RAMBUS that have to be applied in pairs

that'd be easy..

if i knew what brand the 1st chip was!! :D

Oh well ..we'll see.

it shouldn't be a problem with ddr. at least I've never had a problem mixing them. lol

ddr is just like sdram but with double clock cycle on the +ve and -ve edges, hence double data rate.

so u can mix. but as in normal sdram, certain rams when you mix them, may cause u issues.

like eg, chip, clk, volt

I recently encountered a problem mixing brands of DDR - by adding the new stick the computer would not boot. Removed it the computer would. Put the new stick into a different machine it was fine. Ram was same speed - I dont really understand why this would happen, unless its some sort of proprietory thing like compaq ram
