EA's CEO John Riccitiello: 'We're boring people to death'
 

In April, Electronic Arts Incorporated, the world's biggest maker of videogames, hired a chief executive who isn't just satisfied with his company being number one. John Riccitiello says he worries that the Redwood City, California-based company and others in the industry make too many games that lack innovation. "We're boring people to death and making games that are harder and harder to play. For the most part, the industry has been rinse-and-repeat. There's been lots of product that looked like last year's product, that looked a lot like the year before." Mr. Riccitiello praises some new games but he believes there aren't enough titles that break new ground. He said he believes making sequels is still a sound strategy, as long as they are more innovative than in the recent past.
