I remember with Internet Explorer 5, you could enter a command to save the full setup file for a Service Pack to your hard drive.
I would like to save Internet Explorer 6 SP1 to my hard drive so I can burn it to disk and not have to run the setup file and download the files every time i need it. Anyone know how to save the files to my disk? |
I need to do the same thing cause it wont install over the old beta i have
|
Get the exe from here..
h**p://download.microsoft.com/download/ie6sp1/finrel/6_sp1/W98NT42KMeXP/EN-US/ie6setup.exe Then run it with the switch: /c:"ie6wzd.exe /d /s:""#E""" Should prompt you for the destination and install type (Win2k, ME, etc) you want....Check 'em all, I did :P P.S. Slow as hell right now...only getting ~15K/s on a 2M line... Last edited by Pcdad12078 at Today at 8:39 pm |
ok
where do i put that and is there anything i need 2 add or take away |
Should give you the standard MS License Agreement dialog box, which you must agree to, then it will prompt you for a location to download the files to. I just made a folder on my downloads drive and chose it. Then the type of system, you can check them all if you want. I did..That way you can install it on any Windows system you want....When it's done run the .exe in that folder....

/c:"ie6wzd.exe /d /s:""#E"""
yes but where do i put it and how do i use it Thanks |
After you download the .exe click start>run>and enter the path to the file with the switch /c:"ie6wzd.exe /d /s:""#E"""
Example: If you download it to your C:\ drive it would be; C:\ie6setup.exe /c:"ie6wzd.exe /d /s:""#E""" If you allready got the exe, then just move it to your C drive and copy and paste the above command into the run dialog ..... |
