Did you clean the old crusty heatsink paste off of your CPU and add a fresh (thin is better) layer before you installed it? Is the default speed on your new Mobo too fast for your old CPU?

I would check out the ASUS forum at amdmb.com and find out how acurate the temp readings are.
Meanwhile
1. What CPU?
2.What fan/heatsink?
3.How many case fans? Make sure there is good airflow through the case (IDE cables can be a big problem)
4.What was the room and case temp at the time and was the CPU at idle or loaded?

In addtion to other comments here, do you have 2 case fans? Front blow in & Back blow out.

Check the new Antec cases. Money is well spent on a good case.

If you are using an athlon XP AMD say they are safe upto 90 degrees c.

EDIT: I see your system spec at the bottom of your post- ignore the above!
