Firewalls that work with Vista
Starting with OneCare, what else. :)
I was invited to the upcoming AVG Firewall that is compatible with Vista. That's still 2 I know so far working with Vista. |
Thanks for the tip McoreD. Been looking for something that works. Comodo suggests on their forum that this spring their version 3.0 will work too.
OneCare is Microsoft's combo AV/Firewall program isn't it? AVG might be a better bet. Anybody try OneCare? I'm skeptical.;) |
Have been using onecare since the 1.5 beta started and i have to say i'm impressed. It's set and forget for the most part with only new programs raising alerts. It's efffective as an AV as well, havent had any false posatives yet and it has caught a few nasty little buggers that i let slip through. Thumbs up from me :)

Two votes for! :) OK, I just installed the 90 day trial on my Vista box. So far so good. Thanks for the tips. Pretty slick set up and easy to block programs on the first access to the Internet.

BIG problem with One Care is you can NOT UNINSTALL IT!
i've tried several times, and it never goes away, so after 90 days, good luck! Between Avast! free AV,a nd using the windows firewall, I've had a secure vista setup for months... |
wase, sorry to hear that! A reinstallation might fix it? I was lucky enough to get rid of through Add/Remove Programs.
