Intel VS AMD - Who's the best these days?
 

Hi everyone,

I know that I probably could have posted this in the hardware section, but felt it's more for information purposes then anything else.

The computer retailer I normally buy from sends out daily e-mails about the latest news and reviews and stuff. Todays one had an article about AMD cutting the Desktop CPUs prices by an average of 47%, but mentioned that it might not be "enough to retain overall price/performance leadership".

I've been using AMD CPUs for the last 3 or 4 years, because I believed they are the better ones to use for game playing, but since I've seen this article http://www.tgdaily.com/2006/07/23/am...cessor_prices/ I wondered if that's still the case.

Seeing that I'm not up to scratch with the "war" between the two CPU giants, I ask you guys for you informed opinion.

well, intel has released a new processor called dual core extreme, and their prices are about 1/3rd of what AMD's were, for comparable speeds...THAT'S why ADM dropped the prices that much!!
