Hey, anyone know if I can use 2 sound cards at the same time? If I can, then how can I tell one player to use one and the other(mp3 player) to use the other ?

Any Ideas?

hmmmm.... from what I have read it is definitely possible to have 2 cards in at once :)

As far as how to split 'em between the players, I am not sure, perhaps another member can help out on this...

we have to run 2.
an on the motherboard one
and a pci one.

Mainly because our ATI All In Wonder wouldnt get the sound right from the PCI one for some reason (its not full-duplex, its like 3/4s duploex or something).

And so we had to hook the ATI up to the onboard card.
And everything works.

WinXP had no problems.
And new sound programs had no problems.
You just have to tell it which card to use.
And windows which card to use for the default (so u get sounds).

The only thing, we couldnt cross soundcards.
Like, we couldnt record using the onboard one and hear it out of the PCI at the same time. Know what i mean?

yea just install both sound cards and tell your app what sound card to use

like tell winamp to use one

but then tell wmp to use the other one

later should be quit simiple

i did that to my Yamaha XWave and Creative SB Live! audio cards in Windows XP :)
i got no worries
the only trouble was to swap the speaker cable to the each of the audio cards as i got only one speaker.
so easy to change the sound card from cpl :)
