outlook 2003 darm pst file now found
 

Hey,

Just installed outlook 2003 and it says its pst file is missing from:

C:\Documents and Settings\Administrator\local settings\application data\microsoft\outlook

and nothing is even in that folder but extend.dat

So i tried a repar of office 2003 and same. So then I tried a total uninstall of office and then reinstall and same thing. :(

Any ideas ?

Was it a first time install or a reinstall of outlook?
And if it was an first time install have you created a profile yet? (setup your account profile)

Bacause I don't know if you'll have a PST file until you have set it up.

OMG u just reminded me. ;)

I just figured it out thanks to u. The mail icon in control panel and deleted profile and re-ran outlook and it created a new one. Wonder how that happened in the first place though. But finally workin again. :)

You should also always back up your Outlook.pst file, so you can re-import your info in case of a crash or format.
There is a program that integrates into Outlook and allows you to get a backup made automatically every day, week, month, or whatever..It will also save it to an external drive of file folder, so your backup is always backed up somewhere else...
