How come if I shutdown windows while Outlook 2002 is open, I get a warning prompt to close Outlook first? It is so freckin annoying. Office 2000 and before did not do this.

Is there a work-around or fix for this?

Please, I hate this prompt.....

I have remote shutdown and reboot scheduled so that things like DriveImage and Diskkeeper can run at startup. These things are scheduled at night. I like to keep Outlook open so I can hear if mail comes in.

I had that problem the other day.
Outlook is set to empty the deleted items folder on exit.
It is also set to warn before permanently deleting items. When it got to the warning, Windows would not shut down, waiting for an OK.

Settings to fix these are in Tools|Options|Other|General, and then Advanced options.

Hope this'll fix it
