Hi, after installing sp1 1097 in Win XP i opened an explorer window and under the tools menu the " folder options " has disappeared . I have seen a msg. popup telling me that i don't have permission to access this service and further on it says to contact an administrator account. Well i only have one account running and it is an " administrator account "

any suggestions please to where i can correct this......tks :(

This probably doesn't help but....

I think I have read that running XP as the Admin is not a good idea,
so you might want to try creating an account for yourself and see what happens

BTW - Tools/Folder Options is there on my Explorer (1079)

It is there also for me Sp 1097

Also I am running it as admin now and it is still there
Sorry that don`t help, but it seems as maybe the last several things that you did caused it. Corrupt install ???

I found that last time I lost it , it was due to running WINSPY

prolly don't help but i'm eXPeriencing allot of quirky things too after sp_beta 1097... For one the welcome screen is gone :) Tried putting it back w/out success reversing teh *control userpasswords2* tweak blah, blah, blah, no luck. That's why it's called beta :D
