Don't know if these will help:

Did you download the update off the WinUpdate site regarding Remote Desktop? I'm not entirely sure what it does, but it may help your problem.

Is the machine you are connecting to or the machine you are on behind a firewall? You may want to check and see if there's a port you need to open up.

Anyways, those are the only things I can think of.
