vista loaded on F:\WINDOWS ?
For some reason, it loaded on F:, which is the only HDD in the system and is Master on IDE 0. The HDD was unpartitioned at time of install. It I do have a CD-ROM and a DVD-ROM on IDE 1. Can I change F: to C:, or does it make a difference?
Took an awful long time to load Vista, more than one hour. I have a P4/Celeron 2.6, 512MB PC2700, and a 30GB WD. Looks nice so far. I'll most likely have a REAL P4 by next year when Vista is released! |
If it runs ok then I would not monkey with switching the drive letters Mikeh ;)

The boot info and microsofts new boot manager are loaded onto the C: partition by default. You would have to edit these files by hand before you could boot the drive.

As /JD stated I would NOT mess with drive letters, as long as it works good then I would leave well enough alone. That is unless you want to tinker with it so you will know how to get it the way you really want it when you get the final version.
