Can someone explain LCD monitor specs? My cousin is planning on getting one, and asked for my opinion but I don't plan on getting one anytime soon cause I'm cheap and I want them to cost less.

Anyways, what do the following mean:

400:1 (or 500:1, 600:1)
15ms response time
pixel pitch (0.294 x 0.294mm)
brightness 350 cd/m2
