AMD lobbies states to take action against Intel
Lawyer talks unto lawyerA REPORT in Business Week claimed that AMD is lobbying several states in the US in a bid to persuade them to take action against Intel.
AMD, said the report, has had meetings with several state regulators in an attempt to persuade them to start investigating Intel over alleged antitrust breaches. Those states include New York, New Jersey, Missouri and California, said Business Week, and alleges that AMD is ready to show any documents to them it has unearthed that might help its lobbying. Intel denies that it conducts business in any unfair way, and we've no doubt its lawyers have carefully prepared arguments set to counter any actions that may result. Meanwhile, the number of class actions filed against Intel and associated with AMD's own antitrust action continues to rise. At least 33 complaints had been filed as we went to press.
