If you used the files and setting wizard, you had to make a choice of where to put them- see attached. Basic settings - no files, on mine becomes a 13 mb file.

If you have multiple HD's everything might be on another HD. Have you done a search for *.dbx?

think youve missed the point a bit rich but thanks for the prompt rpely

i think i might have solved it

the .reg file should look something like this:
Code:

REGEDIT4

  [HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Internet Account Manager\Accounts\00000427]
  "Account Name"="admin@bittorrentdownloads.co.uk"
  "Connection Type"=dword:00000003
  "POP3 Server"="pop3.bittorrentdownloads.co.uk"
  "POP3 User Name"="admin@bittorrentdownloads.co.uk"
  "POP3 Prompt for Password"=dword:00000000
  "SMTP Server"="smtp.bittorrentdownloads.co.uk"
  "SMTP Display Name"="bittorrentdownloads"
  "SMTP Email Address"="admin@bittorrentdownloads.co.uk"
  "POP3 Skip Account"=dword:00000000
  "SMTP User Name"=""
  "SMTP Use Sicily"=dword:00000002
  "SMTP Prompt for Password"=dword:00000000

I think I follow you know
But when you export that part of the registry
you have to select a location and give it a name
unless you just want "where in the registry to look".

Here is what a late friend of mine used to use when he exported the settings
to a reg file

Quote:

Windows Registry Editor Version 5.00
[HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Internet Account Manager\Accounts]
"AssociatedID"=hex:a lot of numbers here
"PreConfigVer"=dword:00000004
"PreConfigVerNTDS"=dword:00000001
"ConnectionSettingsMigrated"=dword:00000001
[HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Internet Account Manager\Accounts\00000001]
"Account Name"="the king"
"Connection Type"=dword:00000000
"POP3 Server"="graceland.org"
"POP3 User Name"="theking"
"POP3 Password2"=hex:a lot of numbers here
"POP3 Prompt for Password"=dword:00000000
"SMTP Server"="graceland.org"
"SMTP Display Name"="the king"
"SMTP Email Address"="theking@graceland.org"
"POP3 Port"=dword:0000006e
"POP3 Secure Connection"=dword:00000000
"POP3 Timeout"=dword:00000078
"Leave Mail On Server"=dword:00000000
"POP3 Skip Account"=dword:00000000
"SMTP Port"=dword:00000019
"SMTP Secure Connection"=dword:00000000
"SMTP Timeout"=dword:00000078
"SMTP Split Messages"=dword:00000000
