Scanner Software?

I installed a scanner that we had on my mom's computer over the weekend cause her all in one printer started mixing ink colors before it printed.

anyways, I couldn't find the software that came with the scanner so i downloaded the drivers fromt their website.

But I need to know if there is some specific software that she can use so that she can have like an onscreen control panel to click copy and it scans the document/whatever it may be and then prints it.

Anyone know of any software?

Thanks.

Hi adams, if the scanner is in proper working condition with drivers installed, you can try Adobe Acrobat Professional which lets you scan documents nicely to PDF format.

I know there's plenty more out there, but here's one...

P.S. Just tried it and works great in XP...just install it and run it, click copy and that's it...Automatically choose my scanner and default printer on it's own. No muss, no fuss...:cool:

thanks PcDad, that is somewhat what i'm looking for.

attached is really what I'm looking for. This is the one that came with my Canon Scanner, but i'm sure there are other programs out there.

@adams - when you got your canon was Scansoft included on a CD?
It isn't too bad.

What about the one included with XP?
I lost my disk for the scanner and had to use that until I found it again :p

It's quite easy to use really I think and allows you to print the pictures at the end or save them etc

@richard,

I have the cd that came with my Canon scanner. It is my mom's Mustek scanner that is the problem.

@robin, I didn't realize XP had such a thing.

The kings of scanner software are Abby Fine Reader and Omni Page Pro. Take your pick.

Just another FYI:

With Adobe Acrobat 7 Professional, every scanned document can be automatically OCRed to editable Text/Graphics. Pretty accurate. I liked Omni Page Trial as well.

Cheers,

ok guys, i'm not needing an ocr program. i just need an onscreen control panel to copy document placed in the scanner which sends it directly to the printer, no editing needed.
