external hd case

ok, i've got 2 60gb just laying around not being used for anything and I want one to be in an external case so it will be easier to transfer stuff from my laptop to my desktop.

i've looked and looked at them, but i have one question. the ones made for a 3.5" disk have just enough room for the disk and nothing else. the 5.25" ones have a small fan in them. Would it be better on the drive to get the 5.25" one so that the hd gets some air or will the 3.5" do?

Thanks.

My personal preference are the larger ones with the fan in them, mainly because they can take external burners as well if the need arises :)

I've got both ;)
The 3.5" has a aluminium case which gets very hot, as it hugs the hard drive, I tend to use it for only a couple of hours at a time.
The 5.25" is great because as DoG says it has a dual purpose - hard drive/dvd writer, plus it has a fan.

The 3.5" is a lot smaller than the 5.25" so its easier to carry around

I am using one of the 3.5 with a cooling fan inside. As shown here:
http://www.ultraproducts.com/product_info.php?cPath=33&products_id=249

It does not seem to run too hot, although I only use it when needed as. It now contains a 200gig drive. I was in TigerDirect and saw it and figured why not.

For With me I figured if I wanted another external device as a burner, I would just get another external case for that.

Thanks
