can you dual boot with windows 2000 server and windows .net server.

thank you

Yes you can dualboot, but normaly the bootloader from .NET would be able to load W2K, but unfortunatly isn`t. What you can do is to save your NTLDR from C: to a diskette, install .NET, and switch by chanching the NTLDR. What i do is booting .NET with a bootdiskette and boot W2K from harddrive.

And

It's not smart to install them on the same partotion; some folders (Documents & Setting, Programs Files SYSVOL etc) are then shared between the two OS's witch might give you some trouble.

So install on another drive as the Win2K system.

Cheers!

I am also doing my 2k certification... there are some differences that I have noticed. Personally I am not touching .net till my exams are completed. Its too easy to get confused with subtle differences on the exams ;)

I just installed .NET RC1 and XP Pro in a dual boot setup. Each OS was installed on different partitions, with no glitches at all.

I installed .NET first on the first partition, then XP Pro on the second partition. Now at boot up, I can choose from the two OSs and can set the default OS if none is chosen. No modifications of any files were necessary.

Cheers,
Obi1
