Good Bye SP2!
The final straw was this freakin' info bar in my browser that kept saying "internet explorer has blocked content from this website" or something like that. It had to do with active-x content. I tried all the options in my 'security' tab and it still kept blocking 1/2 the download links I wanted. I also don't like that fact that I CAN'T set the default security level where I want it!
Yo! Bill! I didn't spend 4 years learning how to tweak firewalls and anti-spy/ad software just for you to come along and make life a living hell with your "security for dummies" service pack! I'm also sick and tired of the 'right click-save as' crapping out 1/2 the time. I went back to SP1 and feel just fine :D }---:) |
lol
Of which are fixiable fairly easly. lol Its all the popup blocker and information bar which both can be turned of in a few secs. The default secrutiy level is just a simple tweak. Not sure about the right click save as? Maybe the same thing. |
well, I'm quite pleased with sp2, on 3 laptops and 2 desktops. no problems. Surprised by your problem. The new pop up blocks I f8ind quite nice and they haven't at all impeded my usual nafarious activities. :)

Oh! Just turn them off? Why didn't I think of that?!?!?!? The Popup blocker WAS turned off, I turned it on to try and tweak the default settings, after no luck, I turned it off again, still the info bar kept giving me greif. And you CAN'T turn off the "info bar". You have to go into your security settings and customize them. I tried EVERYTHING windows told me to do and I was still getting this garbage even on sites like Yahoo!?!?!? I'm using an older AMD Anthlon 1.1G T'bird in a 4 year old ASUS mobo. In any case, SP2 is done until I upgrade my system. }---:) |
