disable balloons in Windows Explorer?
I found the hack that disables balloons in the notification area. Easy Google Search. It does shut off the balloons that appear when the mouse hovers over program icons on the desktop, but all other balloons seem to remain.
What I would like to do is shut off the balloons that appear when the mouse hovers over file entries in Windows Explorer, which I find annoying. Anybody know how? |
You don't use XP-Antispy?
There is an entry in the Misc area where you can choose o turn balloon tips off. |
Sure here you go:
;Start Menu Shit [HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows\Curre ntVersion\Explorer\Advanced] "EnableBalloonTips"=dword:00000000 "StartButtonBalloonTip"=dword:00000000 ;Disable Start Menu Balloon Tips [HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows\Curre ntVersion\Policies\Explorer] "NoSMBalloonTip"=dword:00000000 |
Thanks unicorn and war,
The balloon tip tweak in xp-antispy is for the notification area balloons. I want to shut off the balloons that show up when the mouse covers files in Windows Explorer. These seem to be the ones that do it.
Sure are a lot of different kinds of balloons. :) |
