i work in an ngo where resources are limited. we have only 3 dialup connections which are shared among 55 workstations. i am at present trying to move the entire lan structure to a winxp pro platform. ALL of our workstations are different (due to different donors giving different brands and models of workstations every so often). i need a way of downloading all of microsoft's windows xp updates at one go so when i install my workstations with winxp pro i can just exe them. so i wouldnt have to have each machine go to windowsupdate site and .... i have tried cnet/zdnet/norton web update feature but they leave out a LOT of updates patches... please for your assistance... peace out |
NOt sure if this is the site youwant or not - but worth a try.

That's what I would suggest. Since the Windows Corporate site got shut down, you can just use the Windows Update Catalog off the standard WinUpdate site and download and save patches to your hearts content.

Since XP SP1 contains all of the updates and patches to date in one file, you may want to grab the latest leaked build of SP1 and use that to update your machines... just a thought!

[richardc2000] THANKS A MILLION FOR BRINGING THIS TO MY ATTN. this is what i had wanted for so long... thanks to all for their input... sure love this forum peace out |
You could certainly do as has been said and get sp1, but I would wait for the final release and get it then. You shouldn't have any problems, as long as your copies of XP are legal that is.
btw, I was unaware you could get winxp updates from cnet, zdnet and norton. Interesting... Last edited by MinnesotaKid at Aug 4 2002, 02:09 PM |
