Any guitar players in here?
Just bought a new fender stratocaster today and Im lovin it much
|
What is it. American or Mexican ?? My dad just bought a American Deluxe (sunburst), it is a sweet guitar itself. It looks just like the SRV model, with the exception of a maple finger board, Standard tremelo, and missing the srv logo.
I was going to buy one also but they cost to much for me right now, $1100.00. I would love to have one with a Peavey Supreme Half Stack and a Line6 Podxt live effects processor. Man I'm starting to droll now .. Here is info on the foot controller: http://www.line6.com/podxtlive/ Here is info on the Half Stack: http://www.peavey.com/products/shop_online/browse.cfm/action/details/item/00461720/wc/1A1B217/fam/TT/tcode/7/surem.cfm Mesa Boogie Rectifiers are nice also .. |
Unfortunately its mexican but still well made and it was hanging right next to a srv signature strat which I drooled over for awhile. This one has the maple finger board also and its the sunburst. I smell an upgrade though before the end of the year.

Just broke it in with the band tonite. Its gonna work out real nice. We've almost got a full set down now. Really starting to come together. Not bad for a bunch of old geezers. If I ever get any kind of recording of us Ill make it available for fun. Lol!

I'm a Gibson guy. Got a '60s Melody Maker and a '72 "Paul" reissue of the '52 "Custom". And a 'tweaked' all TUBE Bandmaster converted from 6L6's to EL34's.

I've got an old Castillia accoustic guitar that I've had since I was 13 (I'm 27 now). I won't ever get rid of that thing, that guitar is more an extension of my body now then a musical instrument. It's soooo beat up now though, there's a small hole in the side of the body, the spaces between the frets are all convex now, it's actually been broke for a month (just a string peg).
I've also got a really nice left handed Ibanez SR500L Bass that plays great but the active electronics annoy me at times. My left hand (pick hand on guitar) middle finger is blistered from practicing some fretboard tapping and bends earlier tonight. I keep telling myself that I'm going to do something with this ability that I have, but I honestly get so frustrated with the people that I've been working with in the past couple of years. I can't seem to meet anyone that actually has both the dedication, and the ability that I need... I can't work with alot of people (guitarists mainly) simply because they can't keep up. I want to play bass in a band, but if I'm better then the guitar player what good is it for me to be sitting on the bass? And I've got a slew of songs I've written for the guitar that I can't find anyone to play. I don't think what I do is exceptionally hard, it's just because of the odd chords, harmonics and rhythms in my music. Oh well, I've got college classes to think about again... fare thee well oh distant stage. |
They are cool models. I always been fond of the Gretsch Roy Orbison Limited edition myself. If I could find one I would deff figure out a way to buy it ... Other than that I play mostly Fender. I tried Ibanez, gibson, washburn, kramer, hamer, dean, schector, prs, ect, but always ended up going back to fender ... Gibsons are my second favorite, they weigh to much though. Then Gretsch ..

Now traded the strat in and got an epiphone les paul standard. I'm truly a gibson guy myself. I dont mind the extra weight. I think the sound is worth it. I think if had switched the stock strat pickups for humbuckers I probably would have been happier. Click the link below to see my latest. I can't tell the difference on this one from a real les paul. Just that the head doesnt say "Gibson"

Yeah the epiphone models have diff pickups, electronics and such in them. They are nice guitars as well. I still think fender are better though ...
