Sound/music speed(tempo) in win xp sp2 always too fast?

hi there

i recently re-installed everything fresh on my laptop and installed win xp (sp2 integrated) from clean install.

however, now the sounds on the laptop play way too quick. this happens regardless of what i do. the music in media player plays too quick. real layer streams the sound too quick, and i cant watch dvds on powerdvd anymore cuz the characters sound as tho they're squeeking. hehe

i've had a look in media player and the tempo is set to normal speed. have tried altering it to slow and fast and it makes it worse. so cant be that.

any suggesstions?

will be much appreciated

thanks

Ishy

WTF, never heard of that before. lol

Well open Sound and Audio Devices in the Control Panel.

Click advanced under "Speaker settings" on the "Volume" tab.

Click "Perfrmance" Tab and make sure "Hardware Acceleration" is set to "Full" and "Sample rate conversion quality" is set to "Best".
