Is this just with Real Player ?

If it is just not RealPlayer, then uninstall all DivX codecs and install the latest DivX 5.2.1. DivX has fixed the Explorer crashing issue with their latest release.

Or

Install 3ivX D4 4.5.1.

It can play DivX, XviD and 3ivX. :)

My personal favourite codec is ffdshow-alpha:

It plays practically all popular formats, has good deblocking and other post-proccessing, is very stable. It's the only codec I've needed to install on my PCs other than AC3filter for audio.
