I'm having many problems with XPSP2 I run a 802.11a network at home, and it sees the AP, can give me an IP address and everything, but says that there is limited or no connectivity, I have tried this both with and without encryption, still same results, is anyone else having this problem?
My PCMCIA Card: Netgear WAG511 (802.11a/b/g) MY AP: Netgear WAB102 Dijital |
I installed XP/SP2 briefly to have a look at it - worked fine apart from my WG511...seems you can use either the Netgear config utility or XP's Zero Configuration, but not both. They both run as services and you must either uninstall the Netgear software or disable XP's Zero Configuration service.
I dumped the install and went back to W2K, which I prefer anyhow, so I'm not all that clued up on the ins and outs of XP. Maybe someone who is can give more useful advice. g-string. |
