File it under your "THE END JUSTIFIES THE MEANS" category

Quote:

Rep. Howard L. Berman, D-Calif., formally proposed legislation that would give the industry unprecedented new authority to secretly hack into consumers' computers or knock them off-line entirely if they are caught downloading copyrighted material.

"There is no excuse or justification for this piracy," said Berman, the leading recipient in the House of campaign contributions from the television, music and movie industries. "Theft is theft, whether it is shoplifting a CD in a record store or illegally downloading a song."

I used to have the perfect software for this type of thing. It was called port stomper or somthing like that. When you were hacked or someone attempted to use a trojan scanner on you it crashed their PC. Am sure i have it on disk some where.............

This crap just makes me sick. So they say that even if you legally own a CD but rip it into MP3 on your computer you can be sent to jail? What a load of bull bollocks! Grrr. You can be sure Berman has illegally taped VHS media in his home. Even taping a movie off of cable is not considered technically legal.
