Hey,

Well I took Windows XP Retail GOLD and intergrated sp2 and now the Recovery Console is gone.

As well as the option to do a repair when you enter the cd and boot time.

I guess I can still use the Gold copy to do repairs.

So anyone know how to fix. Meaning get the repair options and the Recovery Console back?

Thanks,
Will

Well never mind. I found the anwser. Little strange though as I did not do this wth my Gold copy. Or my other sp1.

How to install Recovery Console during an unattended installation
To install the Recovery Console during the unattended installation of Windows, you must use the [GuiRunOnce] section of the unattend.txt file.
Command1="path\winnt32 /cmdcons /unattend"

Well poopie whats that mean? D:/winnt32 ?? there is not winnt32 folder anywhere?

It's not a folder, it's winnt32.exe
It's in the I386 folder of the CD or wherever you have the setup files located.

Yeap it adds itself to the "Startup Options". You can press F8, and choose to run "Recovery Console" just like you use "Safe Mode".
