I was under the impresion that Invision Power Board was free. I now see at their site that you have to register.

What is the best/easiest board software to use? I am thinking of trying something for my work. The software should have a portal too. ;)

Hi Voodoo you can still use invision Board for free the only difference you will have a trial at the bottom of the forum.

You can use it as much as you want for evaluation purpose , if you like it and would like to stop evaluating it they suggest you pay for the registration and to remove the trial form the bottom of the board ;)

How difficult is it to set up. Does it also come with a Front portal like the one here at B1?

But I don't have a portal, I think that you must install another software with it

P.S: As for the Portal, there is also a free (Lite) version which is bundled with IBF called IPDynamic Lite. Once you download the IBF package it can be found in \Tools_and_Scripts\ipdynamiclite

another good board to use is phpBB. Thats if your running mysql and php. very easy to setup, customize, and maintain. very very very easy. give it a go. you can see it at work on my website. check it out there.

phpBB is the simpliest forum ever found, it has a large community groups with tons of mods and themes and supports, IPB's design is beautiful. VB is very expensive for a forum script
