There's nothing wrong with swimming crosswise to the current! I recently tried Sun's OS on adisk, can't remember the name but it's all written in JAVA. It worked like a dream and made me seriously consider putting my hand in my wallet :D

He all Linspire Freaks...hav you see on the Lindows (Linspire) FTP the "marlin" iso ??? what is that ?? is the new Click-N-Run, or so ?

War, do you mean Xandros? I can't figure why Xandros isn't getting more play. It is absolutely the top of the top for old time Windows guys because of it's automatic confuration features--always a hard learning curve when you move from one o/s to another. Maybe I gotta take a look at Linspire, but hard to imagine getting it beter than Xandros version 2.0

I keep coming back to WinXP because of the plethora of programs available. The various Linux distros are professional level, but often it is annoying to know the program you really need runs only in Windows. On the other hand there are all the wonderful crossover programs, etc. but.....it's primarily a question of what your production requirements are and what your work environment is.

The trick is when the editors of the wonderful software we now use will move to proting them to Linux. AFter that it will be the Linux distro that gives you automatic disk mounting and LAN setup. So far Xandros is the only one that does it every time on every computer.

Looking at Linspire's web site they are offering what the other distros have been offering for at least a year. Check out an actual install with Xandros and you will see th diference.
